Sitting adjacent to Richmond, the Fort Bend County seat, Rosenberg has a population of about 36,937. Rosenberg is named after Henry Rosenberg the first president of the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railway. Rosenberg is located south of the Brazos River in central Fort Bend County.

The city holds the Fort Bend County Fair in October. The city is serviced by Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. Elementary schools include: John M. Arredondo Elementary, Bowie Elementary, A. W. Jackson Elementary, Meyer Elementary, Taylor Ray Elementary, and Travis Elementary.

The world famous Rosenberg Police Department serves and protects the city. The RPD is a progressive department serving a rapidly growing community.
