New, Whimsical Art Exhibit Opens In Sugar Land
A new, colorful art exhibit opened up in Sugar Land’s Town Square this month, and we had to go check it out! I’ll start by saying, it did NOT disappoint.
Fun, Interactive, Art Exhibit
The Whimsy World is a fun, interactive art exhibit, created by local artist Shelbi Nicole. Full of bright colors and whimsical designs, this is the perfect place to take selfies or photos with your friends and family! In addition to this exhibit, Shelbi has worked on art projects throughout the Houston area and has collaborated with several major brands.
During our visit, we snapped photos in all of the installed rooms, each with a different theme and color scheme. Some of them have balloons, streamers or confetti, while others have props. This exhibit isn’t geared toward just a single age group. We saw a few moms taking adorable photos of their kids in the rooms, and then there were also a few people like us, just snapping selfies and fun photos with friends!
One of my favorite rooms is the Woodle Wall. It’s filled with colorful cones attached to the wall, giving an illusion of crayons peaking out!
Some other favorites were the Mellow Yellow room and Le Big Whimsy. There’s also a room with a swing, one with a bathtub, and of course, an Imperial Sugar Wall filled with lollipops because everything is #SweeterinSL.
We spent about an hour exploring the art exhibit, and I’m already planning to go back to take more pictures. It’s THAT good.
The Whimsy World is located in Sugar Land’s new arts and events space, called SLTX Studio, in the city’s Town Square. It’s open to the public on Thursdays-Sundays, March 15-April 28. Buy your ticket, and reserve a time slot here: https://www.thewhimsyworld.com/pages/tickets.
Be sure to stop by and snap some pictures for the ‘Gram!
